AZ work in Brampton centres on the CN Brampton Intermodal Terminal and the container carriers, transload warehouses and LTL terminals around Airport Road, Torbram Road, Goreway Drive and the 407. Container drayage between the terminal and GTA warehouses, city P&D for LTL carriers, and shunt work at the distribution centres along Highway 410 and Steeles are the main roles, on all shifts.
Most Brampton AZ roles are home every night. Container work rewards drivers who know the terminal procedures and can manage chassis and reservation systems; shunt work at the 410 distribution centres runs around the clock and suits drivers who want off the road. City and shunt AZ pay in Brampton typically runs $26 to $34 an hour, with night and terminal premiums common.

Large-format distribution centres for retail and grocery. Order pickers, RF-scanner pickers, packers and inventory clerks, with heavy seasonal demand from September through December.

An established industrial park with manufacturing, food processing and parts distribution. Machine operators, production-line staff, quality inspectors and material handlers.
West Brampton (Heritage Road and Steeles)
Newer fulfilment and cross-dock buildings. General labour at volume, often on 24-hour shift patterns.

AZ drivers are in short supply across Ontario, and a driver with a clean abstract, verifiable experience and a professional attitude can choose the work that suits their life: home every night on city P&D or a shunt yard, home most nights on regional runs, or out for days on the highway.
- Typical pay
- $26 to $34 an hour for city and shunt work
- Typical range across our GTA AZ placements. Highway drivers are usually paid by the mile, commonly $0.55 to $0.75 per mile plus accessorials. DZ roles typically run $22 to $28 an hour. Pay is set by each carrier.

Getting there
Getting to work in Brampton
Most Brampton warehouse sites sit on or near a Züm express corridor: the 511 along Steeles Avenue, the 505 along Bovaird Drive and the 501 along Queen Street. From Toronto, the Kitchener GO line stops at Bramalea, Brampton and Mount Pleasant, and Bramalea GO is a short bus ride from the Steeles and Airport Road employment lands.
Night and weekend shifts are harder. Züm frequency drops late in the evening and some industrial roads have no service after midnight. We ask about transportation before placing anyone on a night shift, and many of our long-term Brampton workers carpool from Malton, Bramalea and Springdale.
Driving is straightforward: parking is free at essentially every site, and the main delays are Airport Road, Torbram Road and the 410 between three and four in the afternoon when the day shift lets out.

Do you hire new AZ graduates?
Some of our clients do, particularly for shunt, yard and dedicated local work, provided you have completed MELT and have a clean abstract. Tell us your situation and we will be straightforward about which roles are realistic.
Will I drive under my own CVOR or the carrier's?
As a company or agency driver you drive under the carrier's CVOR and insurance. Owner-operators contract under their own authority; we occasionally recruit for owner-operator positions and will say so clearly in the posting.
How is pay structured?
City, shunt and dedicated local roles are usually hourly. Highway roles are usually per mile with accessorials for waiting, drops and border crossings. Temporary drivers placed through Assured are paid weekly by direct deposit.
