Scarborough has one of the largest concentrations of food manufacturing in Canada, with bakeries, meat and seafood processors, and snack and beverage plants alongside distribution, printing, plastics and electronics assembly in the Golden Mile, Milliken, Tapscott and Coronation Drive industrial areas. It is also where a large share of our candidate database lives.
Our office is a ten-minute drive up from Steeles Avenue, so Scarborough was one of our first markets in 2017 and remains one of the busiest. We fill production-line, sanitation, packaging, forklift and shipping roles here every week, and office and customer-service roles for the businesses along Sheppard Avenue, Progress Avenue and around Scarborough Centre.
Food-plant work has its own screening: food-handler certification, GMP awareness, allergen and hygiene rules, and tolerance for refrigerated environments. Our recruiters know it well.

Getting to work in Scarborough
Scarborough is well served by the TTC. Line 2 ends at Kennedy, and the 53 Steeles East, 43 Kennedy, 129 McCowan North, 102 Markham Road and 985 Sheppard East Express reach the Milliken and Tapscott industrial areas, while the Eglinton corridor runs the length of the Golden Mile. GO's Stouffville line stops at Kennedy, Agincourt and Milliken; Milliken GO sits at Steeles and Kennedy, inside the industrial park.
Night shifts are workable. The 300-series Blue Night network keeps Steeles, Sheppard and Kennedy served after the subway closes, which is one reason Scarborough plants can run 24 hours with local staff.
Most of our Scarborough workers live in Scarborough, Markham or East York and commute under 30 minutes. That shows up as retention.

Do you screen for food-plant requirements?
Yes. Food-handler certificates, GMP and HACCP awareness, allergen protocols, hairnet and PPE rules, and the ability to work in refrigerated or hot environments are all confirmed and explained before a first shift. Clients with site-specific training can have us pre-brief workers.
Can you staff 24-hour or continental shifts?
Yes. Scarborough's transit coverage makes night and weekend shifts more fillable than in most of the GTA, and we confirm each worker's route for their specific shift.
How quickly can you replace a no-show?
Same day for general labour, sanitation and packaging in Scarborough. Because the candidate pool is local, our recruiters can usually reach a replacement within the hour.
What do production and warehouse roles pay in Scarborough?
Pay is set by each client. General labour and packaging typically run $18 to $21 an hour, machine operators $19 to $25 and forklift operators $20 to $25, with premiums for nights and cold rooms.
